Supply Chain Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Purchasing, planning, inventory and materials control

  • Manage all supply chain functions from forecasting through finished goods inventory
  • Manage internal manufacturing production orders to support both clinical and R&D product needs
  • Support clinical trials with order processing, shipments to sites, and management of site inventory
  • Manage component and finished goods inventory and establish controls to minimize supply chain risk
  • Manage warehouse functions, such as receiving, cycle counting, and shipping
  • Develop overall supply chain strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Comply with all procurement regulatory requirements and ethical standards
  • Develop and continuously improve supplier programs
  • Provide timely supply chain data to comply with quality system procedures and processes
  • Lead negotiations with major suppliers
  • Participate in existing and new product planning processes to assure timely acquisition of materials
  • Maintain and improve ERP/MRP system

Supplier Management:

  • Work with R&D and Quality to identify appropriate suppliers based on risk assessment and volume projections
  • Assist in contract negotiations and managing long-term supplier contracts
  • Partner with R&D and Quality to manage key suppliers to implement process changes that will improve yield, reduce lead-time, and reduce cost

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • BS or BA Degree in Manufacturing, Business or related field
  • 5+ years purchasing and materials management in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ year direct supervisory/management experience

  • Master’s degree with Supply Chain or Manufacturing related focus
  • Medical device or regulated environment experience
  • Experience in small/ start-up company environment
  • Experience/ certification supplier auditing
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Supply Chain policies and procedures
